24th ICAIS (2026) Conference Proceedings – Call for Papers
General information
ICAIS is cooperating with the International Association for Open Knowledge on Invasive Species (INVASIVESNET – https://www.invasivesnet.org) for publication of ICAIS 2026 conference proceedings in a special issue of the INVASIVESNET open access, peer-reviewed international journal Management of Biological Invasions.
INVASIVESNET journals already served as the publication platform for previous ICAIS proceedings – please see details in the Conference Proceedings 2008 – 2024 section below this call.
For ICAIS 2026 Proceedings, we will publish a special issue of Management of Biological Invasions focusing on both academic and applied research of invasive species. Of course, all research in the area of bioinvasions has implications for management, and we ask contributing authors to discuss these implications in the Discussion section of their papers.
We encourage all ICAIS 2026 participants to submit their research manuscripts for publication in the conference proceedings. Responsible thematic Deputy Editor-in-Chief for the special issue – Dr. Mattias Johansson.
Submission Deadline and Review Process
The tentative deadline for manuscript submission is November 30, 2026, and authors should use our online submission system for each journal. Within the cover letter, please state that this submission should be considered for inclusion in the ICAIS-2026 special issue of Management of Biological Invasions. Please see the author guidelines before submitting your manuscript. Accepted papers will be published online 2-3 weeks after the publication decision (although time to completion may vary due to delays in reviewing times, revisions of manuscripts, and the need for several rounds of reviews). All papers will be reviewed in accordance with the usual Management of Biological Invasions review processes and cannot be assured of acceptance until they have met the standards for peer review. The guest editors will manage the special issue, although the Deputy Editor-in-Chief for ICAIS proceedings retains the final decision on the acceptance of papers and will work closely with the guest editors during the editorial process. If a submitted paper is authored or co-authored by a guest editor, that submission will be handled by a different guest editor.
Article Processing Charges
Information on article processing charges (APCs) is available at the journal website. We will offer a regular 15 % discount for APCs for all ICAIS-2026 participants, and also additional discounts for INVASIVESNET members (see https://www.invasivesnet.org/registration/ to register and join the Association). If you have financial constraints and need support, please contact the managing editor of INVASIVESNET journals, Dr. Vadim Panov directly (vepanov@gmail.com).
Expressions of Interest and Contact Information
Before the start of ICAIS 2026, please send your expression of interest 1) to contribute to conference proceedings with full research papers (please provide tentative title of your paper), and also 2) to serve as a Guest editor and/or reviewer for this special issue of Management of Biological Invasions.
Expressions of interests and any questions or inquiries can be directed towards Dr. Mattias Johansson (thematic Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Management of Biological Invasions for ICAIS Proceedings) at m.l.johansson@gmail.com, mattias.johansson@ub.edu.bs, and Dr. Vadim Panov (managing editor of INVASIVESNET journals) at vepanov@gmail.com or mbi_editor@reabic.net.
