Dr Jamie Bojko is an Associate Professor at Teesside University, with education in genetics, genomics, animal pathology, and biological invasions. He holds a 1st class BSc degree in Genetics (industrial) and a PhD from the University of Leeds, UK. His research history includes working for the Centre for Environment, Fisheries and Aquaculture Science (Cefas, UK) and the Emerging Pathogens Institute in Florida, USA. To date, Jamie has worked on an array of pathogens and their hosts, most in biological invasion systems, and many that have links to global aquaculture efforts. His main research aims are to understand pathogen emergence and translocation in biological invasion systems, and to understand the threats of ‘invasive parasites’ to conservation, industrial and OneHealth efforts.
